What are the types of GPS trackers?

Here are the types of GPS trackers:

Passive: Thisis the basic form of a GPS tracking device. It does not have any persistent data connection to transfer information to the app or website. Passive GPS tracker simply logs data that you can download with a computer anytime. This type of GPS tracker has a longer battery life. The drawback of this device is that it is hard to keep track of stolen vehicles.
Active: If you want to monitor your vehicle, you will need an active GPS tracker. It uses a persistent connection like a 2G or 3G GPS to transfer data at frequent intervals. This will shorten the battery life of trackers. However, the consistent connection makes it easier to keep mobile on your vehicle.
